I wanted to test some hit chances of the original settlers II Gold because we only had information from Settlers II - TnG. It seems not to be the same behavior but I saw some other strange things I never noticed.



Picture one shows my catapults and which actually fire uppon an enemy building (range 8,10,12) and only the one with 8 fired. If I destroy my building like in picture 2 all catapults fire.
Now I got the theory that the range, a military building can be attacked by a catapult depends on the country the building itself holds. Means if it is close to your border, It wont hold much land but if its far away, it is possible to hold more land by the building itself.

Maybe anybody knows how this works in settlers II
