According to this topic (Addon: Make coins increase rank of only 1 soldier #1418):

What do you think about other way for implementing something like this - for example - by adding new resource: silver ? Silver coins may incereas rank for only 1 soldier...
For me - it is good idea.

Anyway maybe it is also good idea for adding new tools like: halabards or axes and make new type of soldiers halabardiers and axe soldiers (good for Vikings)... or even Pikeman with wooden shield and pike (good for Africans).
